How does sussa! work?
We’re here to improve your eating habits. You choose a plan that fits your lifestyle (Ritual, Gathering, or Celebration). Every week you’ll get a menu to choose your mains and sides from—pick what looks good and exciting. Once you’re set, we cook everything fresh in our kitchen and deliver it to your door on your scheduled day (Sunday or Monday).
Sussa! renews automatically, so you’ll always have food covered unless you pause, skip, or cancel. (See below details about each plan).
What are the different plans and which plan is right for me?
Ritual: 3 mains + 3 sides = 10 meals. Perfect for one person eating lunch and dinner during 5 days (aka fuss-free-work-week). It also fits the schedule for 2 people eating one meal per day for 5 days.
Gathering: 4 mains + 4 sides = 20 meals. Ideal for two people eating lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, as an example. It’s basically double the Ritual —so you and your plus-one never have to argue about what’s for dinner.
Celebration: 6 mains + 6 sides = 32 meals. Made for families or households of 4–6 (as suggested but serves up to 8) people eating together regularly. Plenty of food to share, and enough variety to keep everyone happy. We're talking about 32 unique combos!
Can I mix and match meals?
SIM! That's one of the perks. Mains and sides are portioned separately, so you can combine them however you like. Lemon risotto with roasted veggies one day, lentil stew the next — it's all about the combo that makes your taste buds sing. And the menu updates every week, so there's always something new to play with.
How does my food arrive?
Each dish comes in its own individual container — one for each main, one for each side. Nothing is pre-plated or combined for you. Think of it as your fridge, stocked and ready: you mix, match, plate, and serve at home however you like. Taking lunch to work? Just pack your combo of choice the night before.
How much food is in each container?
Each container holds the full batch of that dish for your week — not a single serving. Think of it like a home-cooked pot of food portioned out for you. If your plan yields 5 servings of a main, that one container has all 5 servings inside, ready for you to scoop and plate throughout the week.
How do subscriptions and billing work?
Whether you choose Ritual, Gathering, or Celebration, you have a few options!
Week by Week:
Sign up on any plan and get billed every Sunday for the following week. Your subscription renews automatically. Pause, skip, or cancel anytime before the Wednesday 3PM cutoff.
8-Week or 12-Week Commitment
Same weekly billing — no big upfront charge — but you're committing to the full term (8/10 weeks consecutive weeks) in exchange for a discount. Once your term ends, the subscription renews automatically unless you pause or cancel beforehand.
What’s the weekly cut-off time for orders?
VERY important question!
Wednesdays at 3 PM is the magic hour. That’s the deadline for selecting your meals for the week. If you don’t pick by then, you’ll get our default chef’s selection because part of our job is to guarantee that you’ll never go hungry.
When does the menu update?
Every Thursday. That means you’ll have a few days to check out what’s new, get inspired and make your picks before Wednesday’s cut-off.
What if I don’t like a dish?
We care about your experience and we want to improve. If something doesn’t hit the spot, let us know. Our team will look for a solution and use your feedback to make recipes better. Tastes are personal, but we always aim for delicioso!
How do you handle allergies?
Your safety is super important to us. Please add any allergies to your order notes so we can save the information in your account. Our kitchen is 100% dairy-free and we never cook with animal by-products. However, we do use soy, gluten, sesame, and coconut, and while we’re very careful with cross-contamination, we can’t guarantee zero traces. If you have a severe allergy, let us know so we can talk through what’s safest.
What if I don’t like a certain ingredient? (Cilantro gene alert!)
Every dish lists its ingredients so you’ll know exactly what’s inside before you choose it. If you don't eat cilantro or mushrooms or anything else, you can avoid those dishes when selecting your weekly menu. Sometimes we can adjust recipes if you note it on your order, but since our meals are cooked in batches, we can’t always guarantee those changes. When in doubt, it’s best to choose another dish.
Can I make changes after I’ve ordered?
Generally speaking, yes - but timing is key. If you contact us at least 3 days before your delivery day, we can usually make adjustments. After that, our team is already prepping and cooking, so changes may not be possible.
When are the deliveries and can I pick up instead?
Deliveries are on Sundays or Mondays, depending on the slot you choose when you sign up. Your chosen slot repeats weekly. If you need to change your day, just give us at least 3 days’ notice and we’ll adjust.
Pick-up locations will also be available soon for more flexibility.
What happens if I forget to update my menu?
Miss a swap or two?
If you accidentally skip making selections, we’ll choose tasty replacements for you. But honestly, it's much more fun when you handpick your favorites!
If your menu isn’t updated at all, your order will roll over to next week. We want to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want.

Can I return my containers?
Not yet — but we’re working on it! Soon, we’ll switch to reusable stainless steel containers with a simple swap system at each delivery. For now, we can’t take back the single-use plastic containers, but we’re excited to offer a more sustainable option very soon.
How does delivery work?
We hand-deliver your fresh meals straight to you, a family member, or leave them by your door, with your confirmation (via text message). Since everything is freshly made, we offer delivery time slots so you can choose what works best for you. Please make sure someone is available during your delivery window so your food doesn’t sit outside.
